Standard 2.4: Written Policies
Written policies should be adopted by the administration and policy board for use in decision-making situations and to provide guidance in achieving the program goals. Policies regarding safety, liability, and lab/shop operation should be written and prominently displayed as well as provided to all students and instructors.
Requirements:
- Rate the extent to which written policies regarding student and institutional responsibilities have been approved by the administrative and/or policy board.
- Rate the written policies regarding safety, liability, and lab/shop operation in terms of being prominently displayed in the lab/shop area.
- Rate the policies in terms of being provided to each student and instructor.
Recommended Documentation:
- Copies of policies regarding safety, liability and lab/shop operation. If policies are in a catalog or policy manual, tab pages and highlight relevant text.
- Copies of policies which address other program goals, such as customer agreements or student checksheets.
- Statement explaining how policies are distributed to students and staff, and where policies are available and/or displayed on site.
