Standard 2.5: Advisory Committee
An Advisory Committee consisting of at least five (5) members (not including school personnel) must convene at least two times a year and be utilized to provide counsel, assistance, and information from the community served by the training program. This Committee should be broadly based and include former students, employed technicians, employers, and representatives for consumers' interests.
Requirements:
- Does the advisory committee convene a minimum of two working meetings per year with at least five members in attendance (excluding school personnel)?
- Rate the input of committee members in terms of participation, providing input on program improvement, and attendance as indicated in the minutes.
- Rate the mix of committee members in terms of being representative of the following groups: (rate collectively not individually)
- Automobile technicians
- Local employers
- Consumer groups
- Former students
- Others (automotive trainers, parents, etc. - please specify)
- Automobile technicians
Recommended Documentation:
- List of Advisory Committee members, with contact information. Indicate which groups (i.e. automobile technician, local employer, former student) are represented by each member. [It is possible for individuals to represent more than one group.]
- Schedule of Advisory Committee meetings.
- Copy of Advisory Committee by-laws if available.
- Reports and minutes from current and previous year, including list of members present. Note location where minutes are stored.
