Standard 5.2: Pre-admission Counseling
Prior to program admission, a student should be counseled regarding automotive careers.
Requirements:
- Rate the use of student counseling on automotive careers prior to program admission.
Recommended Documentation:
- Statement explaining where and when pre-admission counseling is available. If information is available on a website, or in program materials, refer to documentation and tab/highlight relevant statements.

Additional Notes:
- Career fairs, open house, and career awareness opportunities are all examples of career counseling.
- Meetings with the counselors by the business community to provide them with information regarding the automotive industry would assist them in a better understanding of the opportunities this training provides.
- Include the counselors in the Advisory Committee.
