Online Industry Training to Maintain Certification

In 2002, NATEF added a component to Standard 9.3: Technical Updating to require that each instructor at a NATEF-certified program earn 20 hours of industry-based updated training annually.

Now, instead of incurring travel expenses and time away from the classroom, the Upgrading the Nation's Automotive Programs grant provides online access to this continuing education requirement through grant partner Melior. Automotive programs that are either NATEF-certified or have applied for certification simply use their 6-digit NATEF I.D. for access to the training from the Melior website.
